Ventura has been in business since 1955 and is currently owned by the Tarascio family. Ventura was originally a seaplane service for commuters from historic Manhasset Bay on Long Island to New York City and the Metro area. The company was purchased by John B. Thomson, Jr., Chairman of Thomson Industries, Inc. in 1977 and expanded beyond the seaplane operation to the management of a fleet of corporate jets and helicopters.
