In 2016, Skymedia AG and Lions Air AG have merged. The name of the company formed by the merger is Lions Air Skymedia AG. The company will appear under the corporate design of Lions Air.

Lions Air has over 30 years of experience in the chartered aviation industry. The aviation company based at Zurich Airport has the permit to fly fixed-wing airplanes as well as twin-engine helicopters.

Lions Air operates several and IFR-equipped twin-engine helicopters – from training helicopters to twin-engine instrument flight helicopters. In addition, the crew is authorized to conduct field landings and low-level flights, release skydivers, fly displays, carry out film and photo flights, and fight fires. Lions Air is also one of the few Swiss providers to be entitled to fly according to instrument flight rules with a part of its helicopter fleet – even at night and in fog.
