The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) has released its 2024 report detailing aircraft deliveries and industry revenues. Compared to 2023, almost every segment saw an increase in aircraft deliveries, with total industry revenue reaching an estimated $31.2 billion, marking a 13.3% growth.
“As we review the advancements in general aviation over the past year, it's exciting to announce that for the first time in a decade, the annual revenue of our sector has surpassed the $30 billion mark. Additionally, for the second consecutive year, we have delivered over 4,000 aircraft. These exceptional results will undoubtedly give us momentum heading into 2025, but it is crucial for policymakers and regulators on both sides of the Atlantic to recognize that for continued growth, it’s essential to address key issues such as taxes, trade policies, regulations, and supply chain dynamics. General aviation is at the forefront of innovations that enhance safety and environmental performance while ensuring vital connectivity for the global economy and providing accessibility to underserved communities without commercial airline options. It would be unfortunate to see any of these successes halted due to political decisions that could negatively impact an industry that plays such an important role,” stated Pete Bunce, President and CEO of GAMA.
Aircraft deliveries in 2024 showed growth across several categories, including a 4.2% increase in piston aircraft deliveries (1,772 units) and a 4.7% increase in business jet deliveries (764 units). However, turboprop deliveries slightly decreased by 1.9%, reaching a total of 626 units. The total value of aircraft deliveries for the year stood at $26.7 billion, reflecting a 14.3% increase from the previous year.
Helicopter deliveries also saw a rise in 2024. The industry delivered 210 piston helicopters, showing a slight increase, and an estimated 746 turbine helicopters, a 3-unit rise compared to 2023. The preliminary total value of helicopter deliveries reached $4.5 billion, marking a 7.6% increase.
