The Learjet 40 is a descendant of the Learjet 45, however, it has a 24.5-inch/60-cm shorter fuselage and is propelled by two Honeywell TFE731-20AR engines. They are referred to as “AR” engines. The 40 model replaces the departed Learjet 31a in the Learjet model line, incorporating a number of 45 model-derived performance and comfort enhancements.
