The primary airports for private jets are Nice Côte d’Azur airport (NCE/LFMN) and Cannes Mandelieu airport (CEQ/LFMD). Here is a guide to help you choose between these two options to best suit your travel needs.

Nice Côte d’Azur airport is an international airport close to the center of Nice and is the main port of entry for anyone traveling to the South Of France. It is the second busiest private jet airport in France after Le Bourget in Paris and became the second busiest in Europe in 2017 with 35,657 movements.

With its own private aviation terminal, it offers premium services to passengers like VIP lounges, specialist support services and luxury shopping.

It is located in between Monte Carlo and Cannes, approximately 30 minutes away from each city. This airport is more suitable for passengers flying on larger jets due to its large runways.

Nice Côte d'Azur is known as one of the most scenic of Europe and allows you to enjoy the blue Mediterranean Sea and mountainous coast as you land and takeoff. A big advantage this airport has over Cannes is that it is open 24 hours, making it more flexible.

Make sure to organise your trip in advance for slot authorisation and parking permissions due to the high traffic volume.

Cannes Mandelieu is the third busiest business airport in France with 11,848 movements recorded in 2017. It is 7 km away from Cannes center and allowing you easy access to Saint Tropez and Nice.

Due to its shorter runway, you might be subject to maximum weight restrictions which doesn't allow many large aircraft to land there. Unlike Nice, Cannes Mandelieu is usually open from 8 AM to 30 minutes after sunset.

A big advantage over Nice is faster passenger handling due to its smaller size, allowing passengers to arrive shortly before departure.

This could be the better option for people looking to save time and avoid the hassle of larger airports.

Regardless of the choice, it is recommended to organise your trip in advance due to shortage in space during these big events.

In the event that there is no more space, alternative airports can be reached close by but is farther away from Cannes or Monaco.
