NOTAM message

DUE TO RECENT OUTBREAK OF MONKEYPOX, THE FOLLOWING MEASURES HAVE BEEN REINFORCED FOR PASSENGERS TRAVELLING TO MAURITIUS: 

1. UPON ARRIVAL, ALL PASSENGERS WILL HAVE THEIR TEMPERATURE CHECKED. IN CASE OF TEMPERATURE GREATER THAN 38 DEGREES OR SUSPECTED CASE OF MONKEYPOX DISEASE, THE PASSENGER WILL BE TRANSFERRED BY THE HEALTH AUTHOTITIES TO AN ISOLATION ROOM AT THE AIRPORT. 

2. AIRPORT DOCTOR WILL EXAMINE THE SIGN AND SYMPTOMS (FEVER, HEADACHE, MYALGIA, LYMPHADENOPATHY AND SKIN LESIONS) OF THE PATIENT AND SEND SWAB OF THE SKIN FOR INVESTIGATION. 

3. PATIENT WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO HIS PLACE/HOTEL WHERE HE/SHE SHOULD BE ISOLATED FOR 21 DAYS. 

4. IN CASE OF NEGATIVE RESULT, ISOLATION CAN BE STOPPED. 

5. CONFIRMED POSITIVE CASES WILL BE ADMITTED AT ENT HOSPITAL. 

6. RELATIVES ACCOMPANYING PASSENGERS SUSPECTED OF MONKEYPOX WILL BE SENT FOR ISOLATION AT THEIR RESIDENCE/HOTEL BY AMBULANCE.
