We seem to bounce along from one aviation expo to the next and there has been no shortage of news from EBACE, or indeed over subsequent months. Soon it will be time for ACE18, the one-day air charter expo at London Biggin Hill airport.

On page 16 we hear from some of this year’s exhibitors about the relevance of this uniquely air charter broker-targeted event. With aircraft to explore, training to be had and networking to be done you really can’t afford to miss it. Did I mention that it’s free to attend?

At a time when many business aviation companies around the world are establishing partnerships and cooperations with fellow travel and luxury providers, it is good to see a growing global cooperation between associations that heralds an exciting time for the industry; see BACA - The Air Charter Association's introductory piece on page 4. We also hear how the association is looking at standardising charter contract terms and charges, and gathering data on illegal charters in conjunction with aviation colleagues.

This month our New Kid on the Block is the HondaJet Elite. Honda Aircraft CEO Michimasa Fujino talked to us about strong interest for the jet in Europe and growing interest within Russia where, along with the Middle East, light jets are being used increasingly for business as power shifts from oil to other industries. He also sees potential in China where emerging entrepreneurs are looking for the economy of small cabin charter. You can read a summary of the Elite’s highlights on page 8.

Now, back to ACE18 on Tuesday, 11 September: please stop by and see the Charter Broker team at the stand on the apron – there will be comfortable chairs, a cheery welcome and the chance to share your news.
