The Wright Brothers are celebrated worldwide for inventing the airplane, but Charles Edward Taylor is equally important as he built the engine used by the brothers to make their historic first flight. Taylor is known as the world’s first aviation maintenance technician. In observation of Taylor’s momentous contribution to that first flight, the United States designated May 24th as National Aviation Maintenance Technician Day. Today we would like to honor Taylor and all the aviation maintenance technicians who ensure the safety and security of everyone in the air.
