Jet Aviation Bedford made some monumental moving magic, when they helped board over 2,000 people onto flights to Walt Disney World in less than 24 hours and then accommodated their return to Bedford three days later.
FBO Director Pam Day and the Bedford team had been planning for this first-of-its-kind event for about a year, after a company in nearby Natlick, Mass., decided to celebrate its 35th anniversary by sending all their employees to Walt Disney World in Orlando.
Working with Private Jet Services, an event-planning company and Hansom Field airport officials, the team turned the hangar into a TSA-approved screening area and sterile waiting area. Passenger ID badges were issued with flight information and checked prior to boarding buses that would take them to their aircraft. The buses were escorted four at a time in accordance with airport security procedures, requiring six Jet Aviation escort vehicles.
