It’s that time of the year again: the finest European ski resorts are open!

Christmas is around the corner and this winter’s glorious season of skiing and ‘après-skiing’ has already begun as Europe’s top ski resorts have opened their slopes early after multiple heavy snowfalls covered the Alps. If you haven’t already, now is the time to look into booking your next Alpine trip.

Here is our pick of some of the best winter spots you can access by private jet:

Courchevel, France

Niched in the heart of the Three Valleys ski region, Courchevel is known for its extravagant parties, lavish hotels, hip restaurants and super-exciting ski areas. The resort has its own private airfield that can only welcome certain aircraft due to its short runway and steep approach. It is also accessible by helicopter from Chambery Airport. Contact our team to discuss your preferences, as both options are possible with LunaJets.

Altitude: 1,850 meters

Distance from Chambery Airport (60 km from Courchevel)

One-hour drive | 20-minute helicopter flight

Gstaad, Switzerland

Upscale celebrity-endorsed resort town, Gstaad is particularly appreciated for its Swiss elegance, top-notch hotels and restaurants, luxury chalets and incredible spas. Gstaad attracts a fine international crowd to the Swiss Alps, and more precisely to the gorgeous mountains between the French- and the German-speaking regions of Switzerland. The resort’s own private airport can accommodate specific jet models and you can contact our team to find out which aircraft suits you best. Alternatively, LunaJets coordinates your private flights and tailor-made transfers by car or helicopter from Bern Airport, and our Gstaad office offers exclusive concierge services on-site.

Distance from Bern Airport (50 km from Gstaad)

One-hour drive | 30-minute helicopter flight

Saint Moritz, Switzerland

St. Moritz was the birthplace of Alpine winter tourism, and its slopes hosted the Winter Olympics, twice. Other than being famous for its numerous sporting events, it is also one of the most luxurious ski resorts in Europe, often considered to be the classiest spot in the Alps. It is also arguably the sunniest, as it is perched on one of the highest peaks of the mountain range, in the Upper Engadin.

St. Moritz is a popular Christmas destination with its private jet airport, Engadin Samedan, welcoming 350 flights during peak season .

Altitude: 1,856 meters

Distance from Samedan Airport (8 km from Saint Moritz)

Ten-minute drive

Verbier, Switzerland

Verbier is another sought-after winter destination for private jet travellers looking to enjoy exquisite slopes and party at vibrant after-ski venues. The chic holiday resort lies in the Swiss Alps and offers breath-taking panoramic views of the Mont-Blanc. It welcomes visitors from all over the world, excited by the countless activities Verbier has in store besides skiing and snowboarding, like paragliding, heliskiing, sledding or golfing, to mention but a few.

The closest airport is Sion, and our team can coordinate a tailor-made transfer to the resort, whether you opt for a private car ride or a scenic helicopter flight.

Altitude: 1,500 meters
